We went to the beach today- again! LOL there's not all that much to do in the Bahamas when you're on a budget. We went and bought a few soveniers, but we're all saving up our money for all the other countries. Where we're expecting to spend money on things we can't find in the states and do "weird" things like fish for piranhas.
Anyway, I have to tell you about our hotel, the Towne Hotel. It's one of the cheapest hotels on the island and right now it's packed with Semester at Sea (SAS) kids. It's funny because all the kids in the expensive hotels are hanging out here! I guess because they let us stay up and be loud by the pool all night. And we had free wireless Internet in the lobby so when you walk in during the evening you see 50 kids with their laptops open and two parrots who like to try to take your food. One of them is big and colorful and the other is smaller and green, I think they are rather annoyed by us. Well the big one stares me down everyday, but the smaller one kept saying "hello" to me this morning... maybe it wanted my toast. Anyway, the furniture in the room is falling apart and our toilet leaks and there's a few bugs, but other than that it's very charming, LOL. And of course, there's the Bahamian hospitality which never fails.
Tomorrow I get to go on the big boat, yay! (**claps hands like a 3 year old**) I can't wait to start classes and meet more people.
And, for your viewing enjoyment, here are some pictures I took with my digital camera:
